
The Collective Head Interface Unit (CHIU) is a part of the Aircraft’s Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and its main purposes are:
– Manage the Collective Head Thermocouple in order to properly receive and process relevant signals.
– Manage the Collective Head Accelerometer in order to properly receive and process relevant signals.
– Temporarily store the processed Thermocouple and Accelerometer data.
– Provide the stored data to the Avionics via digital RS422 line upon request of the Avionic itself.
– Provide several users programmable features in order to configure the equipment (not in flight).
