The Steering Accumulator (SA) is designed to contain gas and hydraulic fluid under low pressure connected to both pistons of the Steering Actuator damping the oscillations transmitted from the nose wheel to these pistons. The accumulator is charged by nitrogen gas, which is accomplished by a charging valve and a pressure gauge. The head of the gas end is integral with the barrel, made in stainless steel.
